visited Alviso Marina County Park in December, and while it wasn’t the best time to see the famous pink salt ponds reflecting the sky, it was still a lovely experience. The park felt quiet and peaceful, offering a calm escape right in the middle of the city.

One of my favorite places to watch the sunset - numerous trails to bike/run/hike around. The salt pond is also so amazing! There is a parking lot, and also street parking outside the park entrance.

Great place to enjoy a peaceful walk. Sometimes I just enjoy the beautiful view and breeze, other times I take the longer route and have more of a workout. Oh and at some points of the year the water reduces and the salt solidifies — looks like bonneville salt flats!

This is a beautiful place, very concurred for taking pictures, specially at sunset time. During the time of the year when the water is low, you won’t have the amazing pink/orange water but you’ll be able to capture the salt accumulated and it looks just stunning. The gate and free parking lot close at 6:30 pm, so you have to plan your time. Also, is NOT a pet friendly place, because is a protected area. So don’t take your dog with you.

I visited this park recently, and I can’t get over how the salt looked just like snow—totally perfect for snapping pics. The sunset was absolutely stunning, with this amazing orange glow spreading over the white salt that looked like snow. I’ve never seen anything like it before, and watching the colors change was honestly magical. Definitely one of those spots you just have to see in person (and photograph)!
