Didn't take their course. I called to inquire about the start date of their in-person courses, but the person I spoke to was very rude, kept interrupting, and didn't answer my question. I decided not to take their course anymore.

I have taken several courses including drawing , soft pastel, and oil painting. What impresses me about the courses is the professionalism of the instructors; their knowledge; and artistic experience. I needed an objective eye to improve my art and found it there at the Art Academy. During the pandemic I was able to keep up with my art because of the commitment of the Academy to continue teaching in a safe environment via Zoom.

There is a reason why all 3 of Connie Athens' water color classes are always filled -- because Connie is an amazing teacher! I was fortunate enough to get into one of her water color classes and I am now on my 4th class with her. Connie is patient and kind; funny and smart; and very knowledgeable about her craft. She knows when to help and when to step aside. She encourages her students to "be bold" and "just paint." She knows each student's strengths and weaknesses and is able to make each student better and better. It is a joy to come to class every week.
