Remarkable shop. They did a diagnostic for free and confirmed that yes, there were problems with the transmission. Then, rather than quoting a new replacement, they researched and priced a used unit, but forewarned me that even with that, the cost would be likely too high for the value of the car. They were right. All that effort on my behalf with no benefit forthcoming to them. If you are looking for an honest analysis with no hidden agenda, go to these guys. Speak with Lenin who runs it. (Marx and Engels were not around the day I was there. Probably off doing something bougie like skiing.)
