I’ve been practicing at Black Swan for over two years now - it’s my home away from home! I had never practiced before in my life, but the instructors were so encouraging and, ultimately, shaped me to be who I am today. Caitlyn and Lupe in particular have been incredible mentors. Can’t say enough great things about Black Swan Dowtown!!

I love this studio so much! All the instructors are amazing at holding space for students’ growth as well as our peace; the community is strong and supportive. Each instructor has their own unique style, and within that, students are encouraged to take what they individually need from the practice as well. Some of my favorite teachers are: Caitlyn, Jonathan, Gwen, and Christopher — but I’ve learned something from every class I’ve attended here.

First time! It was hot but I moved my body as best I could. Didn’t feel uncomfortable becuase I didn’t know any of the moves, because the instructor was very calm and reassuring when it came to staying where I felt comfortable. But now that I looked over the classes. I will be taking advantage of the beginner slow flow.

Gwen was the instructor and she did an outstanding job! It was great to be back to hot yoga and I feel amazing! Thanks Black Swan for making it easy!!

Highly recommend Black Swan, my wife and I have 2 special favorite instructors: Josh and Caitlin. Josh is a stellar Hot Onnit instructor who is friendly and motivating, he often does the whole workout along with us which is useful when showing new moves and when you're new to the mace - he starts really simple and then builds on it as you're comfortable with it. He mainly does rock and alternative music with good beats. Don't be scared of the mace! Caitlin is a great hot vinyasa yoga instructor who plays R&B, rap and soul and a bit of new age mixed in. She has a mix of fast and slow paced flows, all of which will get you sweating. We've never had anything less than a great workout/mindfulness session from this studio, and will keep coming back.
