Closed at 12:35 pm today. No note on the door or anything. What a waste of time to come all the way down here. Based on some other reviews, it seems like the owner is very inconsistent with the hours of operation. Way to run a retail business!

My husband & I have been into Capital Antiques many times, & have purchased pieces before, including a lovely vase circa 1910, however the hours are erratic, as is the owner’s mood. We have inquired about a specific painting & been given inconsistent pricing several times, & today, I was snapped at to not take pictures, despite never having been told not to take photos before. I find knowledge secondary to kindness, & the owner’s kindness & consistency leaves a bit to be desired. L’Enfant Gallery in Georgetown is superior in every sense.
