Stayed at the historic Delta King Hotel. This is a great experience if you're a history buff. The room is small but manageable. If you are a larger human than the people of the early 1900's. Be aware of very low doorways , narrow halls and tight bathrooms. I'm a gorilla sized guy, I had to turn sideways to brush my teeth because my shoulders hit both walls. The shower is a squeeze, no turning quickly and I had to duck down to wash my hair due to the low ceiling. The staff was awesome, very nice and very helpful. The parking is not at the location. If you drive a larger/ taller vehicle it can be a challenge. Prepare for a two block walk from a below street level parking area. Smaller vehicles have the option of Valet parking. There are no elevators, so prepare for sloping floors and off camber stairs. It was fun, worth the experience. Just be sure you roll into this with a "historic eye" and take for what it is.

The perfect riverside retreat. We decided to upgrade our room selection as we had a longer stay planned and glad we did. We were at the rear of the steamship on the 3rd floor and had large windows looking out at the Tower Bridge and across the river to the sea lions on the dock. The room was very clean, the bed comfortable and the space large enough that we never felt crowded. Housekeeping did a great job of freshening the room when requested. Shower was hot and all the amenities for a pleasant stay were available in the room including great coffee and tea.Valet parking did a great job and provided for an early departure time with no problem. Quick walk to the Pilothouse Restaurant on board and easy access to Old Sac. Perfect in so many ways!

Delta King Hotel & Boat – Sacramento, CA Every time I visit Sacramento, I make sure to reserve a table on the Delta King. The atmosphere onboard is absolutely unique – a mix of Victorian charm and an old-riverboat vibe that instantly pulls you into another era. The ship is beautifully maintained, the seating areas feel warm and authentic, the bar is great, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. The whole setting, combined with Old Town Sacramento and the Sacramento River right outside, creates a truly memorable experience. The food was excellent, and you cannot skip their amazing crème brûlée — easily one of the highlights of the evening. If you’re in Sacramento, this is one of those places you simply don’t miss. 📍 Beautiful views, great ambiance, perfect for photos, dinner, or just soaking in the riverfront atmosphere.

This was a unique experience and we loved it! A restored boat that has a great history. Loved the vintage bathroom and decor. Earplugs were provided because the seals camp out on the other side of the river, but frankly it did not bother us at all

We took the Amtrak train from Emeryville to Sacramento, and it couldn’t have been more convenient—no traffic, beautiful views, and a relaxing ride all the way from the Bay to the Central Valley. From the station, it was just a short, easy 10-minute walk to the Delta King. For a quick city escape, the location is perfect. What really made the stay, though, was the team. At the front desk, Albert and Apple went above and beyond. They didn’t just check us in—they checked in with us daily, making sure everything was smooth and that we had what we needed. They even moved rooms for us seamlessly, keeping us updated by text every step of the way. In the dining areas and cocktail lounge, Carsyn and her colleagues were spot on—friendly, attentive, and serving up some really tasty snacks and delicious libations. Carsyn’s energy and quick banter kept the place lively, and she made us feel right at home. That level of professionalism and genuine care is rare, and it’s clear they all take pride in running the hotel. The Delta King itself is a charming, one-of-a-kind spot, but it’s the staff that makes it unforgettable. Big thanks to Carsyn, Albert, and Apple—you made our visit so lovely and enjoyable from start to finish. Would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through Sacramento—whether by train, car, or just looking for a unique riverfront stay.
