Great spot for a kid friendly hike. It starts off with a play area and you can walk to the river. You get to see plenty of wild life. There’s a visitor center. You have to pay $10 to park. Cash is easiest but there’s a nearby kiosk you have to pull by. Overall great spot if you’re looking to spend 2-3 hours at.

Very fun adventure outdoors learning of indigenous culture locally. And how to apply the historical tools to provide for yourself within your environment.

Great place with easy trails and lots of wildlife. Deer were plentiful and met some helpful people along the River walk. Highly recommended.

It's educational. Lots of cool information and things to see. It's clean and well kept. There's a lot of trails to walk down. Be aware of critters. Bring a snack and some water and go for a nice walk and tour through the museum. Great fun! FYI.. There is a water dispenser( I'm not sure it's filtered)

I have visited Effie Yeaw repeatedly over the last 40 years and have always enjoyed the peaceful, widely spread out trails, the wildlife, the trees, flowers, and the American River at the far end. The dirt paths are clear and fairly level and meander through a number of different landscapes. Coming back is easy because the setting changes with the seasons and with the time of day that you visit.
