First Encounters offers art classes for the enrichment of young children, right here in Roanoke! I participated in the texture rubbing class with my twin toddlers; they were very intrigued and stimulated by the interactive display of artifacts and toys from around the world. I look forward to signing up for a variety of future classes.

Very cool experience for a little one. Lots of colors, textures, and sounds for a baby to enjoy. Our daughter loved exploring the different objects to play with. Will become a monthly routine!

This is so much fun both for the babies getting to explore new sights, textures and colors as well as for the parents watching their little ones experience art in so many creative ways! Kathy is wonderful, and I’m so glad we stumbled upon her little art studio!

We stumbled upon this little gem when we were strolling the streets of Roanoke and I'm so glad we did! Sweet Amelia thrived in the environment setup. I loved how each class was 30 minutes, insanely reasonable, and well thought out. Our class was geared towards the color yellow and we were able to come home with some beautiful creations! I also really appreciated how all senses got involved. A wonderful experience from start to finish. We will definitely be going back for more!
