Our server was very polite and knowledgeable. The fried fish and hushpuppies were lacking flavor/seasoning. The crab dip was very good. The iced tea presentation we loved! The biscuit was tasty but again, the chicken left something to be desired in terms of flavor/seasoning.

Dinner was amazing!! I was a solo diner and celebrated my birthday. Visiting from San Francisco, I was so happy with the service. Food was good but the service was beyond! Everybody that passed by my table wished me a Happy Birthday 🥰. Shout-out to Cheryl ❤️ who was very attentive, sweet and had great recommendations! Thank you to the Fixe restaurant staff for making my day special!!

Visited for the first time for a family bunch and we had a great delicious meal together . Love that they have an open kitchen area. It especially fun seeing them putting the delicious biscuits in the oven. Baked to perfection Biscuits with apple butter and honey, delicious! I had the vegetable plate, it’s was flavorful and had a great selection of vegetables. The service was welcoming, friendly, helpful and attentive. The atmosphere was very comfortable and festive.

I live just down the street from Fixe and finally stopped in for a meal. The brisket sandwiches were seriously good, tender, and full of flavor. I ordered the brussels sprouts on the side and they were a great match. Their biscuits are still the standout for me though. They are soft, warm, and just really comforting. Fixe is one of those places that feels reliable for a solid meal and I am glad it is so close to home. I am already looking forward to going back.

🍴 “Great Vibes, Amazing Biscuits, but a Few Misses” Went to Fixe Southern House in downtown Austin for a family gathering on a Friday night. If you’re looking for authentic southern food in Austin, this place has a lively atmosphere, though it’s very loud and a bit dark inside, with limited downtown parking. The buttermilk biscuits are a must-try—hot, fresh, and some of the best biscuits in Austin! We also tried the fried okra, trout dip, and spicy cauliflower; the trout dip was delicious, but the okra was tough and the rice cakes hard. My fried chicken was oily and tasted reheated, but the heritage pork chop and shrimp & grits were outstanding. Service was excellent, making this a solid spot for southern comfort food despite a few misses.
