I have two kids who have been with Freedom martial arts for 3 going on 4 years. Along with learning karate/self defense they’ve learned responsibility, integrity, and accountability. Master parth and the freedom martial arts staff have become a part of our family’s village. If you like to have your child experience hard work, learn patience and respect this is the place to learn and grow.

Our family is grateful to be part of the Freedom Martial Arts community since our kids were just 3 & 5 years old. Now, at 7 and 9, it’s wonderful to see not only how much they’ve grown but also how the studio has blossomed alongside them. We chose Freedom Martial Arts because of their modern Tang Soo Do approach. What really stood out was the straightforward philosophy. It’s not flashy or overly complicated; instead, it emphasizes solid fundamentals, discipline, and character development. Over time, seeing these values reflected in the curriculum and the welcoming culture confirmed we made the right choice. Our kids are gaining essential life skills that stick well beyond the mat. It's beyond kicks, forms, or self-defense, and definitely more than earning belts. The real magic happens when these elements come together to shape the kids into better people. You start noticing these lessons outside the studio—like their confidence, perseverance, and everyday attitude. Both have very different personalities, too! Yet, the team has supported both of them in very personal ways. Our 7yr old, like many kids, has his moods and sometimes feels like quitting when things get tough. He used to be shy and quiet, but now his confidence has blossomed. Now, he talks about karate with excitement and takes pride in his progress. And on days when he’s not feeling it, there’s no pressure—the flexible program makes it easy for him to keep coming back and learning. The recommendation of attending at least 2 classes per week works well for us, and he can go more when he’s motivated. Our 9yr old is quite the opposite—focused, determined, and goal-oriented. From the start, she wanted to become a black belt, and she’s stayed committed to that goal. The supportive team and encouraging environment of the studio continue to support her and others on the same journey. The instructors celebrate effort, progress, and perseverance, motivating everyone while maintaining high standards. We started when things were reopening after COVID. I still remember Master Parth arranged private lessons for our kids so they could catch up and get comfortable with the program and the changes. Both started in Tiny Tigers (now pre-Karate is broken to Little Dragons and Tiny Tigers). Those early experiences really laid the foundation for their confidence and love for karate today. Over the years, we’ve seen many thoughtful updates to the studio—schedule changes, new programs—all to serve the growing community. What always stands out to us is how clearly everything is communicated and how genuinely Master Parth listens and takes input from families. It has been like a community where parents and students are heard and valued. Another thing we appreciate is how clean and well-maintained the studio always is. Even the restroom, which is impressive considering there’s only one. The respect the kids learn in class shows in how they care for the space. It’s a great reminder of the lessons in discipline and responsibility they’re learning. It is also exciting to see how many students have earned their black belts. When we started, only Master Parth held one. Now, 10 students have reached that milestone. Watching their progress and seeing some of them go on to become instructors is inspiring. The instructors are patient, encouraging, and passionate about helping each student succeed at their own pace. It really speaks volumes about the strong culture and leadership being built here. Our daughter is thrilled to be part of the Leadership Program. Seeing older students take on leadership roles—helping with classes, encouraging the younger ones, setting a good example—has been a wonderful reminder that martial arts is about more than just personal achievement; it’s about helping others grow. We’re thankful to Master Parth and everyone on the team for creating such a warm, supportive environment where kids can thrive and grow. If you’re looking for a martial arts program that genuinely invests in its students and families, we wholeheartedly recommend Freedom Martial Arts.

Our son joined Freedom Martial Arts at 6 y/o, a year ago. He has learned so much - karate technique, physical fitness, discipline, respect and confidence! He's a typical kid who sometimes complains about having to maintain a schedule and dedication to a craft, but overall he loves it! The program provides specific goals, supported by the opportunity to train/practice 5 days a week (5 days is not required, we do 3 days a week, but the flexible schedule is very accommodating) and quarterly testing, if goals are met. Our son loves practicing for testing knowing that there is a new belt/stripe that he can earn and display as a sign of his progress. Master Parth and his team of black belt instructors are kind and patient while maintaining the their high expectations for students. They never hesitate to offer additional individual support/encouragement when needed. I've sat in on many classes and the vibe is always positive and challenging. Our son's favorite thing is the frequent additional specialized workshops and non-class events held. Our son recently participated in a Board Breaking Workshop that provided the opportunity to learn new kicks/strikes and break 4 boards! It was a more freeform format, with music and various belt ranks, but it was not easy or quick. We were so happy that our very easily distracted kid maintained his interest and persistence - he was so excited to participate in the class and so happy with the progress he made after the class. The studio also frequently hosts non-class events; karate/water balloon fight in the park, Parent's Night Out: Nerf Gun Fight and most recently, our son's favorite, Parent's Night Out: Dodgeball tournament. The events are supervised by Black Belt instructors, certified in CPR & First Aid, and safety equipment is provided as necessary. The very reasonable ticket price (less than $40/3hrs) includes dinner and treat. Our son never stops talking about these events, even from a year ago! He has so much fun and always makes a new friend. Best of all, he comes home exhausted from a fun night of playing - not on an electronic device. We highly recommend Freedom Martial Arts! Master Parth has a natural talent for instructing youth and serving as a true role model, in karate and life. The programs he's designed are catered to each age/skill group and they effectively challenge and promote the values and skills he and his team teaches.
