I had a fantastic experience training at this gym. Matt and his team are incredibly knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. They not only tailored a program to fit my needs, but also took the time to educate me so I could better understand the purpose behind each workout. I came in with a pre-existing jiu jitsu injury, and they were very mindful of it—creating a safe, effective training environment. After years on the mats and the usual wear and tear that comes with it, I found their approach not only improved my performance but also supported long-term longevity. Before joining, I was trying to figure out how to incorporate heavy lifting into my jiu jitsu schedule without getting injured. I had previously hurt my hip lifting before training, which really affected my mobility. My jiu jitsu coach at the time even suggested I stop lifting altogether and just focus on jiu jitsu, which made me hesitant and honestly a bit afraid to get back into lifting. Now, with Brendan’s help, I feel so much more confident. Not only is that original problem being solved, but I actually feel comfortable lifting and then training jiu jitsu the very next day. The fear of getting injured again has gone way down, and I feel stronger and more capable overall. I’m now able to consistently lift and stay active without worrying that I’m going to hurt myself or negatively impact my jiu jitsu. That’s something I couldn’t do before.
