I had an amazing learning experience with Mary Grace and Brea! I took the beginner shuffling course and had the best time. I feel confident in the foundations of shuffling and will be back to take some more classes in the future. I haven’t taken a dance class since I was a child but Mary and Brea made it a comfortable experience and even though I felt awkward learning. Mary has such a bubbly personality and she is not only is very talented at dancing but she is good at listening to students and breaking moves down at a level that each person can learn as an individual which is valuable in an instructor. Gravity has entered my life at time where so many things are changing and I’m so appreciative to be a part of a community that enjoys movement! In addition I also attended the Gravity dance battle, it was massive fuel and inspiration! You got to make it out to the battle next year!

I always wanted to learn shuffling. I see it at raves and always thought those people are so cool when they do the moves. It's super flowy and fast at the same time. I took the 6 week beginner shuffle program and it was a game changer if you want to learn how to shuffle. The beginner shuffle is every Monday 8pm-10pm. Highly suggest not missing any class because each class is packed with new moves. You learn all different kinds of moves and choreo. We had Brea and Mary Grace was our instructors and they are super awesome! They're super upbeat and always bring so much energy for a 2 hour class!! 2 hour class goes by super fast! I like that if you're struggling with how to move or any questions you have, they would break down the moves so it's comprehensible and answer any questions. Make sure you bring: good shoes, water and towel (if you sweat a lot) You can even record yourself, make sure the people behind you are ok with it. Restrooms in the building. Plenty of free street parking. Entrance: ring the bell for Gravity Dance because there are other companies sharing the building. The building is also super cool and the decor is so warehouse-like.

Mary Grace and Gravity are beyond incredible and special. To start, the studio is a beautiful space and very professionally maintained; it has anything you’d really need as a dancer. More importantly, MG is one of the best teachers I’ve ever had, even beyond dancing. She is kind, patient, and positive and radiates happiness and joy; not only that but she is consistently non-judgmental and inclusive. MG also cares so, so, so much about her students, and I feel it every time I work with her! I think anyone who really knows her would agree. I originally found Mary Grace by DM’ing a bunch of shuffling studios - she was the first one to respond and I’ve never looked back. I’ve done privates for the last 1+ year with her and took the 6-week beginner course in late 2024. She and the Gravity community (shout out Brea!) have opened up a completely new part of my life. Shuffling is extremely difficult, but I always look forward to spending my time with Mary Grace, and I trust that I’m learning from the best in the biz. I’d recommend Gravity to anybody at any level of dance on any day of the week! Truly an amazing place that Mary Grace pours her whole heart into. 10 out of 5 stars.

I’m so obsessed with this studio! I started dancing a full year before finding Gravity but I feel like Gravity is the first studio that makes me feel so welcome in all classes. I’ve taken everything from beginning/foundational shuffling, to advanced shuffling choreo, to heels, to popping, and every class and teacher here has made me feel seen and welcome, no matter what level. I’ve found so many dance studios make it intimidating to be a beginner, but this studio made me feel safe enough to ask questions, introduce myself to classmates, and try new things. Gravity has basically become a second home and I consistently find myself in Mary Grace’s shuffle classes. I live in OC but I think it is 100% worth the drive and money to get to take class every week here! Mary saw me start as an absolute beginner, right when the studio opened, and I’ve learned so much from her and all of the other teachers I’ve encountered at Gravity. I can’t wait to keep coming to class, seeing my growth, and making all the new friends. They are never getting rid of me lol.

EDIT: After two years Gravity became more than a dance studio but a home ❤️ a studio where you are empowered to try new things & fully supported by the owner Mary Grace who pours so much into each person who walks through the door. You’re not just signing up for a class, you’re joining a vibrant passionate community. Gravity fam is like no other 🙏🏽 & yes street parking is still easy to find I had the best experience dancing at Gravity LA!! Street parking is super easy to find
