There is no question about equipment or price here. All the equipment has been thoroughly gone through and completely known. Ask a question about 80, pick up hardware wiring. And you owe get and educated answer which leads to price every other store? And there have been many that have gone to, i didn't really trust that. I was getting what they wanted me to pay. But here, do you can sit down and ask question after question play guitar? After guitar. And walk out with a purchase that you are looking for and know that you got these guys are honest. Been committed to their craft, which will be proven after a couple of minutes of conversation. My father's been a professional musician. All my life gets his equipment here. My brother is an incredible guitarist. He gets his equipment here. My mother has a guitar from here, and now I joined the ranks If you're more than just a tinkler on the guitar and equipment, then you will appreciate this establishment, 100%

They were very kind and helpful. I thought I'd have to drop my guitar off, but they restringed and tuned it within minutes. Great price!

Got a budget Squier as a gift and took it to Guitar Tex for some mods and setup. The precut pickguard I provided didn’t fit right but they were able to get a custom cut one for me which was cool. The frets and edges were a little rough out the box but came out so smooth. JB did a great job with everything and it turned out just as I hoped. I’d recommend for the quality of work but just be patient as it took a few weeks due to backlog. I’d rather it be done right than a rush job.

My custom Alembic bass that I've had for the last 20 years developed a dead fret after thousands of gigs and even more hours of practice. I was hesitant to bring it just anywhere but after seeing the level of instruments they had in their shop I decided to give it a shot. They seem to specialize more in acoustic instruments, but a neck is a neck and a fret is a fret and honestly I figured a solid body bass is easier to work on than an ancient Martin D-whatever. They did a great job. They weren't fast but you can see why in their work. It plays like it did when I picked it up from the Alembic factory all those years ago. The fretwork is flawless. They did a setup and the action was a bit higher than I like, but still great for a generic off the wall setup. The neck was still perfectly straight without a hind of a buzz. I dropped the action real quick and the G string is now sitting at .66mm at the 12th fret. The cost was surprisingly affordable for a full fret dressing. I'm now happy to trust Guitar Tex to work on any of my high end instruments.

I spent about 6 hours driving around San Antonio, looking for a new guitar a friend that was with me suggested that we go one more place, Guitar Tex. To be honest I was getting pretty frustrated with the whole day and I just wanted to go home. Let me just say, I’m so happy that my friend made the suggestion now. We walked into the shop and I was instantly back in a good mood. I played a few Gibsons and other brands then I saw “IT”. Mark Hieberg pulled the D-28 Sunburst down and handed it to me. I was instantly blown away by its sound and beauty. I asked Mark to play it so I could listen to the sound coming out of it. I was in love with it right there. Mark is an amazing guy that loves and knows guitars as well as anyone I’ve ever met. I will take my business to Guitar Tex until my last days. You should do the same.
