Hindes Gallery is a first-rate exhibit venue for some of the world's most accomplished painters. The art is displayed inside a gorgeous old house featuring wood-paneled walls and a sense of majesty and timelessness belonging to another era. This is the perfect place to house masterwork and to offer live demonstrations by artists. Hindes Gallery offers workshops by the well-known painters displayed here. The Gallery also offers accommodations for workshop attendees on the top floor of this grand home. ( This is perfect for artists needing the convenience of staying in San Antonio while avoiding the daily grind of hauling art supplies from hotel to studio.) The proprietor, Janice Yow Hindes, is an accomplished painter with an impressive resume. Janice runs an Atelier on the first floor, where she teaches oil painting. Her considerable expertise, experience, and warm sense of humor with a seasoned Texas flair make her a perfect curator and host. If you love the arts, Hindes Gallery is an experience not to be missed!

Both Hindes Fine Art Gallery and Hindes Academy deserve a 5-Star rating. After visiting the gallery I began taking classes at the academy. Both are located in one of San Antonio's elegant historic homes. Janice Hindes not only has the heart of an artist but far more important to me personally, she has the heart of a teacher.
