Eli, the Sales Manager, refused to accept our rug return even though it was well within the 30-day policy and the extended TJ Maxx holiday return period. We purchased two rugs on 11/23/25 and attempted to return one today, 12/7/25. He claimed we were three weeks past the window, even though it had only been two weeks. He also said he couldn’t take it back due to “stains,” but when I asked him to unroll the rug and show me, he couldn’t point out anything specific. His demeanor throughout was discourteous. The interaction became even more confusing when we asked if he could at least dispose of the rug for us. He became evasive, changed the subject, and then said he would “hold onto it for a few weeks” in case we wanted it back. The messaging was inconsistent and left us unsure whether he actually intended to keep the rug or attempt to resell it. We then went to the Almaden location, where the team there kindly accepted the rug with no issues—even though we purchased it at Hillsdale. Because of the customer service alone, I’ll gladly continue doing business with the Almaden store and Aaron’s team. Unfortunately, it genuinely felt like Eli simply didn’t want to deal with the weight of the rug and chose not to honor store policy, which another location five minutes away had no problem upholding. Looks like I’m not the only one in the reviews with this location’s shocking culture compared to the amazing Almaden location which has much more rave reviews.

One of my favorite stores. You can always find great decor.

Bought 3 vases, one shattered within 2 minutes in the cart before arriving the parking lot. Manager refused to exchange after I explained the situation, blamed me, “it’s you NOT taking good care of it”, said “NOT our responsibility.” NO apology. NO packaging. Treated me like a problem instead of a customer. NEVER coming back.

I always find something I need for my house here. Most of the isles are wide enough to push your cart through. The staff is friendly and helpful.

We bought a shelf for $56 yesterday for the kitchen just before closing. They were tired, in a hurry and did not examine it properly. We arrived home and found that it was completely broken and had many defects. They didn’t even think that this store could sell it in such a terrible condition. With broken bolts. The next day they brought it back to the same store and they didn’t accept it without a receipt. We were forced to go get the check and then come back again. Terrible experience. Now there is unlikely to be a desire to buy anything on this network(
