The actual fish quality is great but the service is not. Both times we’ve gone to Live sushi bar, no one was in the dining room when we arrived. The sushi bar staff made eye contact but said nothing. 1. Ordered grilled yaki. They were out 2. Ordered Mirugai off their special and told “it’s out of season” after they took our order. 3. Hand rolls were delivered with soggy seaweed. Delivered without finger and wasabi 4. Ordered sparkling water and never received This last visit was in a Sunday afternoon with 3 tables seated and two servers working.

This is your reliable hole in the wall sushi spot. The food was good, fresh and satisfying, but nothing mind blowing or wildly different, though it definitely hit the spot and satisfied my sushi cravings. Many diners also praise the fresh fish and beautiful presentation, especially sashimi and special rolls, and note the friendly, attentive service and chill vibe. Some classic rolls can be average, but overall it’s a solid choice for dependable sushi.

Well-priced Japanese neighborhood outpost sitting at the foot of Potrero Hill. A well-organized delivery option, but with a dining room fitting for a casual date or family dinner. Sushi and rolls, solid. Choice of noodle (udon, ramen or soba) with Nabeyaki broth, excellent; the shrimp tempura an added plus. A great option where both the sushi bar and kitchen pull their weight in delivering quality Japanese.

Great affordable lunch spot. The bento box lunch special is a decent deal. Choose up to 2 items for $20 or 3 items for $24. I usually get short ribs salmon and tempura!

Been wanting to try this place for awhile since it was recommended to me, but it is always packed in there. Finally I got to give it a shot, the restaurant is pretty compact with a modern ambiance. Service and food were great which I left super satisfied. Definitely will be back!
