Austin is a challenging place to visit if you have younger kids, but this place is a lifesaver if you need to kill time and grab some AC with a 9 yr old in tow. The exhibits are presented in a 19th century, curio mystery/horror genre style and quite well curated. I'm a biologist by trade so the preserved exhibits were interesting (some probably hybridized by old-fashioned creative taxidermy, but you never know!). My daughter was excited, a little bit scared in places, but overall had a lot of fun. Well worth the visit.

Looked like a cool place but the hours on Google are incorrect so I showed up at about 8pm and then were closed when maps said they were open until midnight.
