5: Magic chocolate cake. Seed bread stick. Skip: Cheese pizza. Not what it looks. Try seasonal pizza menu instead. Seats should be short.

I have to comment on the princess cake because I often see this place recommended for that. I've had Princes cake from several areas around the Bay Area and Sonoma and so far this is the worst. While the cake component itself was moist and enjoyable, I'm not sure what they did to the marzapan layer but it tastes like it was made with some kind of fat, it was creamy, too sweet and not at all what you would expect if you looking for high quality marzipan. The whipped cream layers were also too sweet and creamy. The bottom layer with the raspberry layer was also very dry. Not sure what this was but it was not the classic princess cake! We also tried other two partries that were also bad. This was all very disappointing as I was expecting a real gourmet experience given how much I've heard about the foodie (I consider myself one) scene in the Rockridge area and how quaint and cool the area is. I've concluded that areas like Rockridge are somewhat isolated from competition and that the people that live in these areas are not as picky given their limited choices.

Fraud is not what I was expecting today. My server did it twice. First I asked for 3 different types of cookies, all had significantly different prices per pound. He put them all in a box and charged me at the highest per-pound rate for the 3 different cookies. I pointed this out to him, and he didn't even say a word. He went using bags and grabbed new cookies and charged me separately for each bag. But surprisingly, the total cost had gone UP versus before when he first knowingly overcharged me. I brought them home and weighed them, and not surprisingly he lied about the weights of all three bags. I drove straight back and spoke to a supervisor, who re-weighed the bags and gave me a refund of double the fraudulent overcharge. This was appreciated. It doesn't change the fact that they have an employee who is knowingly committing fraud, twice to me, and it would be surprising to me if I were the only one he was doing it to. Beware.

I had the passionfruit and lemon cheesecake and it was absolutely DIVINE! The flavor had a perfect balance of sweet and tart. You could actually taste the passionfruit and the lemon was subtle enough to not be overpowering. The texture was rich and creamy. It was $4.95 for a slice but the slice was very dense and filling so I found the pricing reasonable. I can’t wait to try other treats!

Went to this bakery a couple of times while in the Bay area. They have really good cookies. Particularly the ginger cookies and almond cookies plus we also has egg bites, yum great protein, we had pizza which was very cheesy and assorted pastries, see pics. Recommend.
