I went out with Old Plank Sailing Adventures for a sunset sail on my birthday, and it ended up being one of the best experiences I’ve had in Marina del Rey. The boat was spotless and clearly well cared for. The snacks were actually delicious (not the cheap filler stuff you sometimes get), and the drinks were great. Matthew, the owner, was awesome to talk to—easygoing, fun, and clearly passionate about what he does. The views were unreal, and the sunset was honestly perfect. It felt peaceful, memorable, and just an all-around great time. If you’re looking for a relaxing, beautiful, and enjoyable sail, this is the place. I loved it and would 100% do it again.

Matthew was a great host and captain. We had an amazing experience. We recommend sailing with Matthew anytime. Matt is very experienced and made the whole trip great. We plan to take our kids out with him.

Had the most peaceful day sailing with friends thanks to Old Plank Sailing Adventures. They were able to accommodate us with fairly short notice, and were super communicative throughout booking. We sailed up along the Santa Monica coast, saw sea lions and dolphins, and enjoyed freshly prepared snacks made by the captain - a very tasty smoked trout crudite that tasted like it was made at a high end restaurant. Overall just great, couldn’t recommend it higher.

Had an absolute banger of a birthday cruise with Old Plank Sailing Adventures. Captain Mancini knows his stuff, and in three hours we got to cruise, watch a sunset, sip rose and eat tasty hors d'ouerves. Would recommend this experience to anyone looking for a great perspective on Venice/Santa Monica and some fresh air.

This was a great experience and recommend if you are able to do a sail with Matthew. Prior to going out, We were sent information with directions and where to meet along with details of what and what not to bring/expect. We went right to the yacht and got settled- rose and hors d’oeuvres served and on our way. Went through the marina and saw sea lions and then out to sea. The ride was smooth and then set up to sail. Had great conversation with Matthew. Great and accommodating to having a curious 3 year old on board as well. Would definitely do again!
