Many people share horror stories about their experience with a contractor but mine was far from that. Sean is a joy to work with. He is very communicative, responsive and flexible. He listens to the needs and desires of his clients and always aims to please. He did excellent work, went above and beyond and is extremely fair. His integrity in all things is top tier and that was very important to me. Honest, trustworthy and respectful. I would hire him again or refer him without question. I love my ADU!

I highly recommend Onyx Construction owned by Sean and his work. I worked with him on two projects. The first was for my bathroom. He repaired the incomplete job done by a former handy man and installed a new surround around my bathtub, installed new plumbing fixtures and patched and painted. He did a fantastic job, kept everything clean and was very professional throughout. Just as important though, he communicated throughout the project (even when I was out of town while he worked, he sent me daily photos and updates.) He answered all my questions, was on time, and showed up when he said he would. The second project was much bigger and more complicated. I added a garage onto my existing ADU. This larger project included many unexpected hurdles which Sean handled well. He helped me make choices that were cost effective and kept the project moving along. Again he kept me up to date with good communication, answering my questions and understanding my priorities. The best thing about Sean is that he is honest, he keeps his word and he will be sure the project is done right.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! We hired Onyx General Construction Company for a complete kitchen and laundry room remodel as well as replacing the hardwood flooring throughout much of the house. We chose to go with Onyx after meeting with and receiving quotes from three companies. Sean was very quick in responding to the initial request and providing a quote. The Onyx team started demolition very soon after being awarded the project and made a lot of progress in a short amount of time. Although this project was obviously very disruptive to our daily lives, the Onyx team did everything possible to minimize the impact and the team was very respectful and friendly. They never made any more noise than was necessary to get the work done which I have found to be an issue with many contractors. We went into this project with very high standards and the Onyx team did a great job of meeting them. There were discoveries and problems and delays along the way, but those are expected with a house of this age. Because Sean addressed these challenges creatively and collaboratively, minimizing the financial impact, we feel like we were able to get the desired results without exceeding the budget. Communication with Sean was always prompt, professional and courteous. We've hired at least six contractors for major projects on this house and Onyx provided the best combination of product, service, and management of them all.
