Tommy has been helping us with our taxes for years and we'll never use anyone else. We always look forward to catching up with him come tax season, and he's so generous with his time throughout the year as our lives evolve and we have questions. Thorough, kind, and fast. I'd recommend him to anyone!

I have used Tommy from Pacific Tax for years. How did I find myself reviewing my tax preparer?! Well, he seems to actually care about me. So much care is taken when I have questions or am not getting things in on time. Calm and understanding. 5 ⭐️

Note I inquired about my taxes but did not use them due to quoted price. I spoke with Tommy and he was super friendly, knowledgeable, and had a wealth of things to help out with tax organizing. He quoted me ~$1,000 to file based off the previous year (the CPA I went with was less than half of that). I thought it was pretty expensive as I only have one W2, a handful of 1099's, and a rental property out of state.

I used Tommy Do for my 2019 taxes after I was too disorganized to make the filing deadline. It was initially easier than doing it myself, and of course getting someone else to help me when I was too scatterbrained to handle it was really nice. However, Tommy didn't know how to report that interest on US savings bonds I cashed in 2019 had already been reported in previous years. He incorrectly told me that I had to get the bank to issue an amended 1099-INT, when (I later learned) all you need to do is annotate Schedule B. Arguing with the bank seemed pretty difficult, so I took the $800 overpayment hit at the time. Now I've done my research and am filing an amended return to reclaim this, and I have discovered that Tommy also seems to have failed to report about $5 of taxable interest on a Roth rollover, which isn't a big deal except that I have to decide how to explain it to the IRS, which complicates the amendment filing. Yes, these are somewhat obscure cases, but I don't think they're *that* weird for middle-class people, so I would expect a professional who spends every day working on tax returns to get them right on the first try. In fairness, Tommy did calculate my estimated tax underpayment penalty using an optimistic method that the IRS sometimes accepts, which would have saved me about $300 if the IRS had accepted it. I would never have known to do this. Unfortunately, the IRS rejected his calculation and sent me an underpayment notice. If you are the kind of person who finds taxes impossible even with tax filing software, Tommy Do might be a good choice. If you can do the moderately complicated taxes of a white-collar professional with multiple brokerage/retirement accounts correctly yourself, and you can do it fast enough that $680 has you on the fence about outsourcing it, I don't think Tommy is worth it for you.

We highly recommend Kurt for your tax needs. We have been working with Kurt for the past 2 years and he is thorough, professional and utmost knowledgeable. He does a video recap at the end of the prep and walks you through all the details and what you are paying for as well as what you've saved. This simple additional step helps us better understand all the intricacies but also gives us a lot of confidence when submitting our taxes. Kurt is very astute and informed with all things tax, from RSU vesting to small business. Thank you Kurt!

Mike Tuma answered my question in 5 minutes, after previously stumping 3 other tax professionals. Thanks, Mike! I'll definitely be using your services again.
