If you plan on getting you film developed do NOT bring it here. I used to love Powell Camera but after what they did I will NEVER be doing business with them again. This past August I dropped off my film as normal and I usually get my pictures back in about a week. Two weeks had gone by since I dropped off my film and I hadn't heard anything so I decided to call the shop, they then inform me that my photos have been "misplaced" along with 20 other rolls of film. What is so aggravating and baffling to me is the shop owner, Mark, and his employee never once reached out to me to tell me the situation and I was the one always contacting them for updates! It was if they had no care in the world when they should've been doing anything and everything to make the situation better. They were always so dismissive and made me feel dumb for even being upset that my pictures are gone! It's absolutely ridiculous!!!! After literally MONTHS of my photos being missing I decided to go into the shop asking for answers and Mark said to compensate he would give me a free roll of film, but of course they didn't have any in stock that day so he said to come back. When I went back I arrived and Mark was not there but his other employee met me with attitude and very hesitantly gave me the roll of film. It's the LEAST they could do after leaving me in the dark for MONTHS and the whole way the situation was handled. Overall, I find the business to be very untrustworthy and I will never be bringing my business back. Very disappointing.

I’m visiting my family and came here wanting to get a pouch for my 35mm point-and-shoot and because they promoted selling vintage cameras. The guy at the counter (young man with black hair and glasses) didn’t offer much assistance. When I asked about the cameras they had at the counter, he handed it to me. When I mentioned about buying it, he told me, “These are for decoration only” in a condescending tone. Aside from this awkward interaction and the fact that I didn’t get assistance from anyone, I wouldn’t recommend this shop. I’m only giving it 2 stars because they do have good equipment in stock, but you’re better off going somewhere else, like Freestyle.

I am currently on vacation in California specifically the city of Covina. My one camera I brought with me was damaged in the luggage or at home before I packed it. Nevertheless I brought it today to Powell Camera to see if anything could be done to fix it or the whole trip would have to be photographed with my cell phone. Mark Thiel was very Helpful and very Courteous. He took the time to check the chage of each battery to rule them out as the cause. Once he determined a possible broken spring in the camera it would seen time to retire it! The place has everything and anything your photographic needs. Plus they also can print pictures write there in then.📸
