I can’t say enough great things about this gym! The owner and the trainers are truly exceptional and are highly knowledgeable and experienced in all aspects of strength and core training as well as nutritional counseling. I like the fact that each members training plan is custom and individualized. I am 61 years old and have been training with this gym for 5 years now and my strength, core and stamina have never been better. I highly recommend River City Strength for all your training needs.

When I started at River City Strength 3 years ago, I was over 50 pounds heavier and dealing with constant pain. I relied on Aleve at night just to get out of bed the next morning, had limited shoulder mobility, and knee pain so bad my orthopedic doctor told me to STOP walking, especially long-distances and said I’d likely need a knee replacement in the near future. At the beginning of my journey with RCS in 2023 along with the pain, I had to tape my knee and shoulder (basically the whole right side of my body was jacked) just to get through workouts. Today, I no longer need tape or daily pain meds. They did routine evaluations that checked my strength & flexibility. Then they created a workout plans that helped correct my form, improve my technique, but most importantly, eliminated my knee and shoulder pain. Last year, at 61 for the first time in my life I became lifeguard certified so I could teach swimming lessons at a big-box gym (I’ll keep the name to myself😊). What I didn’t realize was the water rescue portion I had to pick a body up off the bottom of a pool 6ft deep with just my ankles and hoist them up enough so I could grab them under their arms and pull them on to the rescue tube. I did it! I owe my success to River City Strength! River City Strength isn’t just a gym—it’s a place and supportive community that makes you want to show up and put in the work. Highly, Highly, Highly recommend! 💪

I came to River City Strength after turning 40 and realizing that the form of fitness I was doing at the time was no longer serving me. My goals had changed, and I wanted to focus on building strength in a controlled environment. I decided it was time to work out and lift weights for longevity and not for time or for reps, but just for me and my body. The fact that they have individualized programming was what sold me as one size does not fit all! Since I first walked in the door, Jesse, Danny, Marco, and Erin have immediately made me feel welcome. They make everyone feel like a valued member of RCS, and they are always there to walk you through programming, help you with form, and also push you when they know you can be doing more/lifting heavier! There is a camaraderie among the coaches and other folks at the gym that is unmatched! I truly love everything about River City Strength!

I have been with Jesse since 2014/2015 at another gym. When he opened his own gym, I followed him and so did a good portion of the clients he trained. That shows you how much trust we have in him. He took me through two shoulder surgery rehabs, modifying my workout regimen to strengthen my shoulder, at the same time, not neglecting the rest of my lower body work outs. He trained his crew of RCS coaches into the awesome coaches they are today. At this gym, we have fun, there’s no shaming and we all hold each other up. I am proud to say that at 62 years of age, I feel that I am doing a whole lot better than some of my other friends who are the same age or some younger ones (in strength, mobility, energy, etc.) due in large part to my commitment to my work outs under the supervision of the dedicated coaches at RCS. Can’t say enough good things about this team! Come and see for yourself!

UPDATE: I'm coming up on 3 (!!) years at RCS. This place is still amazing and is the only fitness routine I've ever stuck with. I'm stronger, know how to better take care of myself, and have fun every time I'm in the gym. Love the coaches, love the members and love what it's done for my health! 10/10. You know you've stumbled on a rare place when you say to the owner, "I found you guys when I googled 'midlife, out of shape woman, personal training...and River City Strength popped up with a bunch of 5-star reviews" and he responds "That's great. We are here to help people get strong." While Jesse, Danny, and Marco might look intimidating in their photos (i.e., not midlife and out of shape), they are the best kind of coach: motivating, smart, pushing just the right amount, welcoming, and FUN! The atmosphere at this gym is a joy and I'm so glad to finally be making this investment in myself at a place that makes me feel supported, entertained, and stronger! A+++++

The whole team is awesome and well educated. They help me with my technique and build a plan based on me. And even if I come in and need modifications for the day they work with me and what my body needs to help prevent injury. They are also all just a cool group of people.
