When I first attended this temple the staff was warm, kind and friendly. However recently new members of the staff have been quite rude and unaccepting of new members. I will never go here again. Such a shame to have a place that is suppose to be a positive thing be so out of touch and unkind.

Visited the Zen center today, and it was a really nice experience. I'm somewhat new to formal Zen, and wasn't familiar with what I should and shouldn't do, but everyone was welcoming, non-judgemental, and kindly guided me through the process. There was also effort made in making sure I was comfortable, since I'm not used to the extended periods of kneeling. The Dharma talk given by Myoshi (?) too about mindfulness was great, and something that will definitely help me in day-to-day life. Afterward, it was great to get to sit around, drinking coffee and tea, and getting to chat with such nice people. Overall, it was an uplifting and enriching day for me.

SAZC is an oasis of tranquility and calmness in the middle of the city. I felt very welcomed from the moment I arrived at it’s doorsteps. The beginner’s instructions, that are offered every few weeks, were very helpful for me. Their website is easy to navigate and very informative. This is a serene place that I plan to visit often.

From the first impression outside, this is a lovingly cared for space. I felt right at home inside as it was clearly a space focused on practice of the Dharma. The abiding teacher was very welcoming and chatty and made sure I knew what was going on with their forms. I was very comfortable practicing here and would love to come back again.
