I started taking lessons with Eli around the beginning of 2025 as an adult student. Although I had played piano, I hadn’t had formal lessons before. Eli built on my prior knowledge by filling in the gaps with key musical terminology. Eli also made sure to focus on the things I wanted to work on the most such as my rhythm. In about 8 months, I’m not only able to play pieces of music I enjoy with both hands, but also have a greater appreciation of maintaining a consistent tempo and the different jazz elements I’d like to add to my practicing. I really appreciate Eli’s patience and commitment to making sure I’m satisfied in each lesson and professing in a way that will make a better musician overall.

Eli is awesome. I took piano lessons with Eli — I didn’t really know where to start but I had a basic foundation, and knew I wanted to improve my understanding of the piano to help me with recording, composition, and jamming with friends. He intuitively found ways to direct our lessons toward that goal while keeping them interesting and fun. He even incorporated some composition elements where I was able to dissect things I’d already written and understand why it works, in theory. Great demeanor and cool guy all around — would definitely recommend!

Taking lessons with Eli has been an incredible experience! I started biweekly piano lessons with him earlier this year, and it’s been such a wonderful way to bring music back into my life. Having had many music teachers growing up, Eli is one of the best I’ve worked with. His ability to tailor his teaching style to suit your individual needs and goals is super helpful. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced musician, his diverse musical background allows him to connect with students at all levels and across genres. I’m so thankful for the lessons and progress I’ve made under his guidance. If you’re considering piano lessons, formal or more casual, I can’t recommend Eli highly enough!

As an an adult learner with no real prior musical background, starting piano lessons was a bit of a daunting task. Eli has made the experience fun, engaging and not intimidating at all! He has an impressive depth of knowledge of the piano, and makes learning different aspects of piano playing very approachable. He's worked with me to best understand my learning and practice style, and has really tailored our lessons so they are both informative for my skill level and pique my musical interests. I can't recommend Eli enough!

Simply put, Eli is a great teacher. I'm primarily a bass guitarist, but had been wanting to improve my keyboard & compositional skills, in order to advance as an overall musician. Eli worked with me to craft an approach and schedule fit my needs. I feel that I advanced significantly in my basic knowledge of the piano and broader knowledge about chord voicings & voice leading that translate to other instruments as well. Also, I had the great pleasure of seeing Eli's band perform the great Shuggie Otis's tune "Aht Uh Mi Hed", which he helped me learn in my lessons. I sincerely hope to study further with Eli at some point in the near future.
