Warning! If after the 2nd fitting your dress does not improve take it elsewhere! They will only continue to waste your time and take your money without delivering results. I scheduled my first fitting appointment on January 3rd. My best friend’s wedding date was February the 28th. The seamstress had ample time to make the necessary adjustments to my gown. I have a larger bust than the other wedding party members, so I ordered a larger dress in order to create additional fabric in this specific area to avoid revealing too much cleavage. That being said the back of the dress needed to be significantly taken in. I explained this to the seamstress at the onset of our initial appointment, and I asked her expert opinion on the size I had chosen, stating that I could exchange the size if she felt it too large for her to take it in sufficiently. I traveled the hour one way from Oakbrook on three occasions because Sew and Glow came highly recommended by a close friend. I gave this seamstress three opportunities to finish/fix the dress, each time more disappointing than the next. At the final appointment, she attempted to rush me out of the shop before I tried the gown on while simultaneously attempting to raise the agreed upon price. There was no way I was leaving without trying the dress on. The dress was the exact same as the last time I had been there! Still 2-3 inches too big across the bra line area in thr back. When I brought this to her attention she decided to insult me, by claiming the dress would fit if I took off my shape wear. That my body would not look like that out of it. I obliged her and offered to take the shape wear off so she could see the dress would still be too big. I do not know any shape wear that takes 3-4 inches off a woman’s back! When it was apparent the loose fabric was still present with my shape wear off, she turned to flattery and more insults stating I would have room to eat with the inches of hanging fabric. At one point she approached the dressing room as I was changing to ask if I was crying. She knew this dress looked horrible. She then offered to adjust the dress for the fourth time. I declined, I could not make the drive back out because my flight was departing early the next day. Her way of making up for my disappointment was not charging me the up charge she’d tried to add on. I am 5’10” with a 36” inseam, and have had to go to a seamstress since I was 10 years old, to have all of my pant leg hems taken down. I have had pieces made from scratch. I have had couture silk dresses that were too small expanded. If I were in my home state I would not have needed a referral. This was the most devastating experience I have ever had with a seamstress, and it was so important that I look respectable for my best friend. I would not recommend this shop if they offered to work for free. Save your heartbreak 💔. Go. Elsewhere.

I had such a great experience getting my wedding dress altered here! She did an incredible job—replaced all the boning in the corset, hemmed it perfectly, and made sure everything fit like a glove. Aselia worked so quickly and efficiently, and her prices were very affordable. I’m so grateful for her skill and attention to detail—highly recommend to any bride-to-be!

I love having a female tailor in my neighborhood. She did an amazing job with my items and I immediately brought in more clothes to be tailored after picking up my first order. Highly recommend! Easy to book and text notifications when your item is ready.

Barbara is at the Sew &Glow Damon location and not only is she a pleasure to work with, but she saved my wedding dress! It went from being unwearable (those who made it used someone else's measurements for the bodice when they were "correcting" an error with the fabtic used for two illusion netting pannels and decided to remake the entire bodice so it was too big in width, too short in the torso length, and the too small in cup size) to being a beautiful dress for my wedding day. I only had a few weeks before flying out and she prioritized my dress to make sure it fit well enought to wear and feel beautiful while minimizing alterations costs. Due to time constraints, the failure on the bridal shop to deliver exactly what I ordered, and some inadvertant weight loss, it wasn't a perfect fit, but it was wearable and helped make my wedding day beautiful. Thanks, Barbara for being so welcoming and sharing your seamstress expertise. You saved my dress and made sure I had something beautiful to wear on my wedding day. It has been a pleasure getting to know you and work with you.

Such a nice team. They took in bodice and hemmed my complicated beaded dress. Happy to wear fitted black tie dress.
