The first jobs Simon did were actually for my mother-in-law. He repaired her dining table and did some restoration work on the case of her grandfather clock. In both cases the work was top quality and completed quickly, also he was happy to collect the items and return them when completed. Following this, we asked him to repair a couple of our dining chairs and most importantly (for me!) bring back to life my 12-string guitar which I haven't played for over 30 years.
