My cousin and I were in town for work and decided to check out some bars in Gaslamp afterward. Starbar was the only place that acknowledged us when we walked up to the bar, and the service was top tier. Rob and Dalton were amazing, friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They turned what started as a disappointing night into a great one. This was the only bar that truly deserved our money and a 5-star review. Even though it’s a dive bar, it was exceptionally clean. All products were capped, bottles were wiped down, and there wasn’t a speck of dust on the shelves. We felt comfortable, safe, and genuinely welcomed. Starbar sets the standard for great service in Gaslamp, and we’ll absolutely be back.

Reasonable place for downtown. Played a few rounds of pool and enjoyed the music which was not too loud. A lot of good songs played and a pretty relaxed atmosphere. Karaoke later in the night but didn't get the chance for that,,,

Absolutely love StarBar! Keller serves up the best drinks. Only issue is the music. EDM when there’s a EDM club right across the street? The bar should definitely hold strong on rock n roll vibes. Got that small town dove bar charm to it. Regardless I love coming here!

Been going here over a year. I play pool pretty often. As soon as the DJ music started the vibe was killed. Please keep this a dive bar. Get a DJ that plays music with vocals. Change the genre every weekend or keep it the same. Biker music, country, rap. Whichever. But this isn’t it. I love this bar but this isn’t a club.

This is my go to dive bar in Downtown SD. Cheap drinks, nice pool tables, good people. Marina is my favorite bartender, if you see her behind the bar, you are in good hands. If you are a pool player, you should also check the 9ball tournament on Mondays and 8ball tournament on Wednesday.
