An absolute must-visit in San Diego. Steak 48 is, without a doubt, a world-class steakhouse that meets—and exceeds—all expectations. A 5 out of 5 experience in every way: exceptional quality, impeccable service, and an simply unbeatable atmosphere. From the moment you arrive, the level of detail and hospitality makes all the difference. The wine selection is outstanding, with a particularly strong curation of Napa Valley labels, perfectly aligned with the culinary offerings. As for the food, any cut you choose is of superior quality. The king crab legs and hand-cut bacon are especially noteworthy, both absolutely memorable and 100% recommended. It's an expensive place, yes, but every dollar is fully justified. Steak 48 is not just a meal; it's an experience.

While our chef (Brian) was impeccable, his assistant had a n attitude and was quite slow especially with water serving. No problem with the guys seving food.

We recently dined at Steak 48 in Del Mar for our anniversary, and overall it was a really nice experience. The ambiance is beautiful, perfect for a date night! and the customer service was excellent from start to finish. The staff was attentive, welcoming, and even surprised us with a pie to take home for our anniversary, which was a thoughtful touch. They also followed up the next day to check on our experience, which we really appreciated. That said, the steak itself didn’t quite meet expectations. We ordered it medium, but it came out closer to rare. We still managed to enjoy it, but for a restaurant at this price point, we expected it to be cooked exactly as requested. We ordered the tomahawk. The bread was too buttery for our taste, even felt a bit mushy. The asparagus and fries were good. While the overall experience was good, it’s hard to justify the cost. We’ve been to other steakhouses where the steak quality and execution were better for a lower price. All in all, a great atmosphere and top-tier service, but the food and pricing didn’t fully match up for us. Solid 4 stars.
