The pho is is REALLY GOOD though perhaps not what they shine for IMO. Tay Ho offers appetizers and house specials off the beaten path of westernized viet cuisine that are absolutely incredible. Try the tapioca dumplings!! The staff are passionate about their food, friendly, and inclusive. It’s pricey, but not above average for an upscale Vietnamese restaurant. Highly recommend!

This is one of my favorite Vietnamese places in Oakland- food is delicious, service is excellent, and interior is nice. Would be good for a cute little date night. My favorite appetizer to get is the Banh Khot. Absolutely yummy! It’s crispy and has just the right amount of coconut and flavor. I’ve been here multiple times and it’s something I always order. I don’t think i’ve had anything bad from this place. Their drinks are really good as well. It’s a bit on the pricey side for Viet food, but it’s well worth for the taste and quality. Parking is on the street and I typically don’t have an issue finding something nearby.

The food is okay, prices are expensive for what it is. We did not like the banh cuon here, the rolls are too thick and the pork inside are dry. Everything on the vermicelli bowl was decent but stale/not fresh or hot.

Went here yesterday with my wife and we were both blown away. She had the draft pilsner, I had a diet Coke (served in the can with a glass of ice), and we shared the Gỏi Gà Xé Phay (Classic Mary's Free-range Chicken Salad) and the Bourdain Vermicelli Bowl – Bún Đặc Biệt. The portions were very generous; we had to take some to go. The flavors were incredible. The grilled lemongrass pork especially stopped me in my tracks; it’s one of those bites where you pause just to let your brain catch up with how delicious it is. Parking was what you’d expect for the area; we found a metered spot on the other side of the block and walked over. Service was smooth, food came out quickly, and the whole experience left us wanting more. We’ll definitely be back.

Food is delicious and is quick. I’ve been several times but hands down my favorite is the garlic noodles with short ribs. My other go to is the Drunken Beef. My lunch companion orders the noodle bowl which looked really good so I’ll try that next time.
