My family and I recently saw The Nutcracker and had a wonderful experience. The Long Center is stunning and there isn’t a bad seat in the entire house. We enjoyed spending time before the show shopping for souvenirs and admiring memorabilia and elaborate costumes displayed around the facility. There were beautiful holiday decorations and a skating rink available for ice skating. We loved the ballet and cannot wait to return!

The Long Center is a wonderful venue and absolutely gorgeous at Christmas time. I took away a star because it is not very accessible. You have to allow significant extra time when arriving and departing because it is slow going to enter as well as leave the parking garage at the Long Center. It's also not every accessible for individuals with mobility issues. There is only one small (very slow) elevator to take individuals who cannot walk the endless stairs to the entry level of the Long Center.

Beautiful facility! Love hearing the Austin Symphony! Easy access to the parking garage. Friendly staff and great cocktails.

I am extremely disappointed in the customer service of this staff. Specially, with Lara Edwards and Danny and another gentleman sitting with them. After the intermission, the entrances were locked and therefore impossible to get in. I was sitting in the box of the balcony (most expensive seats) and I was waiting outside my entrance for 20 minutes!! They walked on by me and didn’t offer if I needed help getting in. Even worse, I approached some employees and asked if they doors are always locked and if I can get in. They looked at me and seemed unsure, then one said, “You might have to wait for a break in the music.” Lara Edwards straight up said, “I don’t know.” Then as I waited they watched and talked nearby and didn’t care that I was waiting if I to get in. They didn’t even call the ticket people to let me in. Eventually I went downstairs on my own and told the ticket checking person I’ve been waiting for 30 minutes and he apologized and finally let me in. I beg, someone please fire Lara Edwards (who sells pins) and Danny and this gentleman whom I took a photo of. They are extremely incompetent and uncaring of their jobs and their people.

The Drop In is great. Live music weekly on Thursdays. Tickets are released on Monday. They show their events on insta. The city lights were nice to take in. Entry is near riverside drive and 1st street. Parking isn’t close by unless you park at the long center. Street parking is somewhat far but it’s an easy walk. There are ride options parked outside after the event if you’d rather not walk. Seating is on the grass. People brought chairs and blankets. You can bring an empty water bottle and fill it up at a water refill station.
