Five stars - but the hours make no sense I was visiting San Antonio for the first time, exploring the Pearl District after driving in from Austin. I stumbled upon this bookstore and was genuinely excited to go in — it looked warm, inviting, and exactly the kind of place I love to browse. But on a busy Saturday night, with massive foot traffic and tons of people out shopping and spending money, the store was closed. That really surprised me. This is the prime time of the entire week for businesses here, and closing during such high-traffic hours honestly makes no sense. I’m still giving five stars because the shop itself looks great, but the hours feel like a major missed opportunity. Being closed on Friday and Saturday nights is just bad business practice in an area that thrives during those times. I hope they rethink their hours to match the energy and demand of the Pearl — because they’re losing out on a lot of customers like me.

Book store is amazing! Love the history of it, their mission how accommodating they were to their patrons. You can tell the people that work there are there for the books

One of the best parts about visiting a bookstore is the conversations I get to experience during checkout. The book I purchased sparked a beautiful conversation with the ladies at the checkout counter. I love listening to how others interpret / respond to an author's perspective. It's one of the richest's parts of discussing books. I took my time browsing this cute indie bookstore. I always take my time in bookstores as I walk each isle waiting to find the book that calls to me. I have so many books on my, to-be-read list and when I spot one of them on a shelf, it's like seeing an old friend. The book I chose to bring home with me was, The Selected Works of Audre Lorde. What a gem for only $16.95. I'm going to really enjoy this one. Her work is raw, powerful, and unapologetic. I also bought a bookmark which is something I always do when buying a new book. They just go hand in hand. You'll find many options at the checkout counter. Make sure to take a look at the beautiful journals if you're also into exploring your thoughts through writing.

As a book author! I had a wonderful experience here with my sit and sign. They are a great little hole in the wall. You can find all types of books and cute little stuff for your children. It's definitely a place to explore if you haven't before. Very popular place for bookworms.
