Umberto’s Italian Grill is a small restaurant with big portions and even bigger flavor. The food here easily beats any mainstream Italian restaurant. We had the beef lasagna and Umberto’s Pasta with grilled chicken—both were incredibly flavorful and cooked perfectly. The Potato Leek soup that came with my meal was absolutely amazing and honestly could be a meal on its own. The intimate setting makes it an even better experience, and it’s always a favorite place for us to come back and enjoy a great meal.

Umberto’s may be tucked into the center back of a strip mall, but don’t let the location fool you—there’s plenty of parking and the food makes it more than worth the stop. Every visit has been consistently excellent. I’m a big fan of the mushroom covered steak and shrimp “board special,” and it never disappoints—perfectly cooked, flavorful, and hearty. My wife always orders the salmon and shrimp “board special,” and she loves it every time. The wait staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which adds to the overall experience. We always walk out fat, full, and happy—exactly what you want after a great Italian meal. Highly recommended for anyone looking for reliably great food and service on the northwest side.

I came out of state with my family of 11. They were almost closing and gave us the best service we had experienced. The waiter name is Dylan and was extremely attentive and caring. The food was incredible!! From the pizza to their special dish Steak and shrimp pasta. Two thumbs up.

We had a Secret Santa here and everything was excellent. The food was amazing and the service was great too. I ordered the salmon pasta, and just writing this review makes me want to come back and order dinner again. I really hope this place markets itself better because I’d never heard of it before, though I also appreciate that it’s low-key and quaint. Absolutely delicious. Only complaint, it doesn’t make sense that a Caesar salad has an up charge

We finally visited Umberto’s Italian Grill in the NW side (off Culebra). It’s very casual and family oriented. We were given Bruschetta and rolls, a solid starter. For our appetizer we chose the stuffed mushrooms. Although the picture doesn’t do it justice, they were HUGE and generously filled with Italian sausage. They were flavorful and substantial. Our entrees came with a salad and I really loved their house vinaigrette. For my entree I went with the Shrimp scampi. I wish I would have tried their Chicken Piccata instead. My husband had the veal Parmesan. They definitely serve large portions. Overall everything was pleasant. Our waiter was very friendly as well and made sure we were taken care of. It also appeared like they had a party room.
