I am not sure if the accountant that I met with was incompetent, a crook, or both. I started a business in 2016 and I went to here have them file the taxes and adjustments to my books. When making adjustments to my books for 2016 he left several items that would need to be "cleaned up" the next year. Thus, making more work for himself next year if I would be a returning customer. He also made a very concerning entry for 2017 that essentially hid thousands of dollars. I am not sure what his intention here was. There are only two reason I can think of why this would have been done: 1.) Again, creating more work for himself next year, or 2.) It was an attempt to steal. To top it all off I found several errors on the tax forms, which showed that there was very little attention to detail. Luckily I noticed this before anything was filed.
