The classes are ok. The place doesn’t really have a welcoming vibe and the front desk person Colo had made me feel awkward for asking a basic question

I really like this school for various reasons. First, all of the instructors are friendly, professional, caring, and they have patience. They will take their time to ensure you learn because they know that every person has a different style of learning. Second, I am lucky to have encountered classmates that are friendly, and willing to help you to learn. They answer my questions with openness, and they also teach me techniques to help improve my learning. Lastly, we help each other to learn, and this place is clean. I truly highly recommend this school if you want to learn martial arts!

I started off 2023 with a shoulder muscle tear with a goal in mind of training martial arts to eventually become a professional fighter , I finished off that year training from April to December and ended up as a 2nd place finalist at grappling industries never have trained jujitsu in my life up until then . Anderson’s couldn’t have prepared me enough from the material we learn to the great training partners im surrounded by. Couldn’t have asked for a better gym to train at . Truly a family , Mr.Sifu has created something special for all people to enjoy and that we do .

I’ve been a member of Anderson’s for about a year and a half, primarily am involved in the bjj program. Sifu Anderson and Professor Max have created an excellent bjj program and I feel incredibly lucky to train here. If you are looking to join an new gym, but are uneasy about finding the place with the right culture, I highly recommend you come train with us at Anderson’s. By and large everyone in the gym is friendly and welcoming. If you are brand new, you don’t have to worry about someone more advanced going too hard on you. The gym’s population is diverse and welcoming to all. Whether you are a high level athlete looking to compete, a hobbyist, or a complete newbie, you’ll be able to find a home at Anderson’s.

A professional, friendly training environment situated in downtown Manhattan. I was made to feel like one of the team from the moment I stepped through the door. Cru Shawn was super patient and his skillful yet humorous attitude made the training fun, yet a truly great technical workout. Just what I was looking for. I look forward to stepping onto the mat again. Anderson's Martial Academy is the real deal.
