This is one of the most authentic Korean food places in the area, if not the most authentic. I’ve tried many Korean restaurants, and at most places the food tends to be overly salty and strong -- not something I would consider authentic. The soondubu dishes here are excellent and far better than what I can get in Bellaire, as good as what you’d find in LA or NYC but at Houston prices. I’d also recommend the soondubu noodles; they’re not a traditional Korean menu item, but they’re really good and I keep coming back to them when I want a Korean fix. As a repeat customer, I don’t understand the negative reviews about the quality of the side dishes (banchan). They taste exactly as they do in Korea and as they should. If they seem too bland, it may be that your usual diet is higher in salt or seasoning.

Not sure where the 1 star reviews came from. Service was great and friendly. Food was fantastic, great priced and plenty filling. I left there stuffed. My only gruntle is I wish they added more meat, but at the end of the day I left full.

Dubu Dubu is in the old Mama's Kitchen space on Richmond. It is comforting Korean food. Service is warm and attentive. The parking lot is small with free parking. The space itself is simple and comfortable. Their tofu soups have a rich broth, fresh ingredients, and good spice levels. The banchan is always fresh. The japchae is very tasty and the galbi was hearty and delicious. Prices are reasonable for the quality. It's not the best Korean food I've had but it was not disappointing.
