I’ve been coming here for many years and have picked up some beautiful African cichlids here that were very hardy, I like the huge tanks in the front of the store and the great selection they have.

Shop keeper is nice but the bettas are not housed well. The bettas are kept in cups smaller than petsmart right next to eachother so there’s nothing blocking their view from of the other bettas, causing them to be stressed. The one I picked had pieces of his fins at the bottom of the cup from fin biting, likely due to stress. When I got home, I tested the water from the cup and it had .25 ppm of ammonia which any fish keeper knows is bad for the fish. Based on the ammonia readings, they are not changing the water in the cups often enough. I only got the fish I did because of how he seemed to want to swim towards me even in that little cup. I knew in my cycled 5gal he’d heal up well, and knowing myself I could tell I would think about him and regret not rescuing him from those conditions. Otherwise, I would have gone elsewhere that keeps their bettas in more habitable set ups such as Neptune Aquatics.

This store has a ton of large fish breeds and insanely large fish. There's a decent amount of community fish. They seem to be a $1-2 more than a big box store. Unlike a big box store they don't have dead fish in every other tank. The fish also seem to be more mature. I asked for 6 zebra danios. I told her there's a couple leopard danios in the bag. She said no the purple stripped ones are zebra. I said I know but that one has no stripes and I don't think that one does either. She said they were so I took her word on it. Turned out I got 4 leopards and 2 zebras but the store was too dark to tell. Update I was able to take the leopard danios back and get zebras. For the hassle I was given an extra zebra.

They have a lot of cichlids and some of them are rare and hard to find. The only problem here is the hours of operation which starts at 12 noon and sometimes later than that that’s why I only gave them 4 stars. I came here one time and waited for an hour until I decided to leave and come back some other day. My suggestion is to call them first to make sure they are open and ask specifically for what fish are you looking for so you don’t waste your time. Just be ready with your budget because it’s not like the cheap aquarium shop locally. The owner in this store is very firm with the price but other than that I liked how healthy the fish looks like. Highly recommended place for fish hobbyists.
