Today was a "Free" license day. Just pay for parking. A lot people took advantage of it. Was not a great day to to fish, on top that it's 95' in Castro Valley! Lake Chabot is a great place to be without the heat and the loud crowd and extra hikers!

A place I’d love to come back to when I have more time — perfect for a peaceful stroll or a relaxed family outing.

Here is the review of our last experience, during spring this year. We have only been to cafe and never experienced the marina services. They look interesting and reasonably priced though. So definitely in our list of things to try soon 🤗. Back to cafe. It is a comfortable, quiet place. We were there in the morning hours, so it was extra calm in and around there, especially with the clear, uninterrupted lake view from all the windows. The service is pretty great. They offer a simple & straightforward menu of sandwiches tea and coffee. And if you want sweet treats they got that too. We loved that they had decaf option in coffee. You can enjoy your order in the indoor as well as outdoor space facing the lake. We chose the tables on the side of the cafe, where the morning sun just hits right. We also stopped at the picnic tables at the back of the cafe when we were done with our 9 mile hike around lake. It’s a great shaded space for little stretching after your long hike. If you forget your water bottle, like I do most of the times 😀, the cafe have plenty of options, so you can definitely checkout something. Overall a great place to chill 😎 and have fun while you are on lake visit. I hope you too find it good 👍

Such a cute and cozy spot to relax after a boat rental — perfect for enjoying a delicious snack with a lovely lake view. The staff were incredibly welcoming, caring and kind. And ready to help. A big thank you for the complimentary treat for my baby — and for the cheerful smiles and warm conversation! The grilled meat and sandwiches were absolutely delicious — so juicy and flavorful! I really appreciate the use of compostable coffee cups too. Highly recommended!

TJ and David are very nice and provided us with great services at the boat launch area. We were deeply impressed by their excellent service quality, and deeply appreciated TJ told us "You are welcome to come back in the future". The Café is very clean, hygienic and well organized. Thanks so much to the owner of the Lake Chabot Marina & Café for responding to my review...a very rare nice owner, who reminds me of the manager of the Empire State Building in New York City!
