Mastro’s managed to turn what should have been a premium steakhouse experience into a complete mis-steak. The wait was already dragging, but the real comedy started at the bar. If I have to wave down a bartender just to get a drink while three people are standing there, that is beyond ridiculous. That is not top-shelf service, that is bottom-barrel cluelessness. In a place charging steakhouse prices, the service should be sizzling, not asleep on the grill. The whole staff energy felt half-baked. Nobody seemed locked in, nobody seemed sharp, and the bar service moved like it was marinating in slow motion. For an upscale NYC spot, it was astonishingly hard to get basic attention. I should not have to hunt down a drink like I am foraging in the wild just because the bartenders are too busy staring into space. The vibe was just as bad. Instead of polished, elegant, and high-end, the room felt full of clowns. Not the kind of crowd or atmosphere you expect from a place trying to sell luxury. It felt more circus than steakhouse, more sideshow than fine dining. The whole place had this weird off-brand energy, like it wanted to be class but kept tripping over its own dress shoes. For a supposed upper-class restaurant in NYC, the atmosphere felt cheap, chaotic, and painfully off-cut. And that is really the theme here: everything felt off. Off timing. Off service. Off crowd. Off attitude. Mastro’s wants to present itself as rare, but this experience was well done in the worst way. The service was dry, the atmosphere was tough to swallow, and the whole night left a bad taste before the food could even matter. Plenty of places in NYC know how to raise the bar. Mastro’s somehow limboed under it. I refused it, and I will not be coming back.

We were entertaining two friends from Boston and one from DC and so we wanted to take them to a phenomenal steakhouse for dinner after our show and so we selected Mastro's Steak House For a couple of hours we enjoyed cocktails at the bar, Edwin was our server and he made all of our cocktails absolutely perfectly the first time around. He even managed to create a couple of cocktails for our friends to their liking. Thank you so much for that Edwin. Then we were shown to a wonderful corner table downstairs by the hostess for our dinner. Orlando came over and went over some of the specials. We ended up ordering the scallops for our appetizer which was absolutely out of this world. Then the four of us ordered various versions of the filet mignon and one friend ordered the tuna. Everyone kept raving over how perfectly well their fillets were cooked and how awesome they tasted. We had to conclude this "phenomenal" meal and take Orlando up on his suggestion and so we ordered the butter cake for our desserts. That was quite frankly one of the best desserts we've ever had. Our friends could not stop raving over their dinner at Mastro's. Thanks to the hostess, Edwin and Orlando for making this a wonderful, long lasting memory for our friends and our ourselves !!!

I had an amazing experience thanks to the manager Q at Mastros Restaurant. She was incredibly professional, kind, and attentive throughout my visit. Her warm and welcoming attitude truly stood out and made the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. Because of her exceptional service, I will always make it a point to visit whenever I’m in NYC. She is a true asset to the restaurant!

If you want a passive aggressive experience where you’re treated like a nuisance while trying to celebrate your birthday then you have the right place! Our waiter was rude and abrupt, when I spoke to him about it we went back and forth. Deciding to back down I simply waited for him to leave and then went to the front desk to request another waiter. No problems with the new waiter whatsoever. However, when I went to the bathroom the servers who assist in bringing food to and from tables decided to antagonize my guests by picking up the bread that was still fresh and untouched. And when asked to please let it they stated that they were only doing their job. How polite of them… To add a cherry on the cake they been proceeded to stand in eyesight and talk about our table while shooting looks at us. When I came back and my guests told me what happened I was in complete disbelief as I’ve been to mastros more times than I can count and never experienced anything like this before. We decided to just finish our meal and go. If you want great food and to be treated like your insignificant on your birthday then this is the right place for you!
