The Lee Accountancy Group did an extremely bad job with my tax returns. They have poor internal and external communication. I had to hound them to tell me when my taxes would be ready for my review. Once I had finally reviewed and approved my taxes, someone on their internal team made late changes to my return, and submitted the wrong return to the IRS without getting my approval. It was a headache to correct their mistake with the IRS and FTB, to submit amended returns, revise all my tax payments, and follow up with all the relevant agencies. (More details on the wrong return: someone on their team thought the could save me money by adding contributions to a retirement account I don’t have. They changed my returns to reflect this strategy, presumably to pitch me this savings idea, but no one communicated this to me. So the Lee Accountancy submitted a false return without my review instead of the return I reviewed and approved. And no one knew about it until after tax day had passed. It took them three weeks to resolve the issue and the communication for the follow up phase was just as poor as doing the taxes the first time.) Your time is valuable and your taxes are important. Don’t use The Lee Accountancy Group.

I contacted with the Lee agency in 2021 because I had filed the previous year's taxes with TurboTax, and there were some mistakes that I wanted fixed. I knew from the beginning that I wanted them to review my return and file an amendment on my behalf. In June, I had my initial contact with them and gave them my documentation. Every month or so, I was contacted by a different person at the agency, who was reviewing my file with no understanding of my situation. When they would eventually gather that I was intending to file an amendment rather than a late return, they'd put me on the back burner. I got kicked down the road around 4 times, and they finally finished my file in November. Surprise, the IRS stops accepting returns at the end of the year! And so this means they can't file my amendment until late January. I contact them twice more, to make sure that the amendment is filed. In late January, I was told that it was filed and that I should expect a confirmation. Three weeks go by and I get nothing, so I call today, and I'm told that my amendment was filed last Thursday. What happened in between? They had some kind of tax software trouble and my amendment was not accepted, and they didn't want to bother me with updates that I'm powerless to fix. That's understandable, but I got no updates at all and felt like I was misled at some point. Combine that with the lack of urgency in dealing with my account, and I'm not too happy with the Lee accountancy. I think I'll be looking elsewhere.

Scheduled a 13:00 meeting with him via teleconference. Logged into the meeting. Got an email from him at 13:04 saying we're not there, responded at 13:06 saying that we were there, and the zoom conference terminated. Simple misunderstanding, right? I called him personally immediately after, and he exhibited extremely poor professionalism to the point that I would not recommend him to anyone.
