This is speaking from my own experience here at Saritas when I was a child. I was in the early 2000s group lineup and at first, everyone was really welcoming and had a great attitude and I was comfortable being a part of this dance studio. I remember Sarita had a daughter that she would give the solo parts too (unsurprisingly), and everyone else would get everything else. As time went on, I started realizing how rude everyone was. During the final stage performance backstage, I was having trouble putting on some of my outfits and I asked one of the older dancers (she looked like she was in her 30s), to help me put an outfit on because I was struggling. The dancer/employee yelled at me saying "YOU NEED TO FIGURE IT OUT YOURSELF" instead of helping me, a 9 year old girl, before the performance we were both going to do. Thankfully, in tears because of the yelling, I figured out how to put on my dance costume. I was a little on the bigger size and I could absolutely tell the difference in how I was treated compared to the other dancers that were smaller/slimmer than me. I wasn't given any important parts, I wasn't shown as much attention, and me and another girl on the bigger side received a pin instead of a trophy like the others. I was ignored a lot of the times, and it's such a shame that I have this memory still from when I was a child. If anyone reading this has children, please understand that if your child is overweight, they might not get to have the full experience as a slimmer child/person will have in this studio. I am hoping the staffing has changed significantly in Saritas because I wouldn't wish the experience I had on anyone else's children. As a child, joining a ballet or dance studio is one of the most exciting things that could ever happen to you and you wouldn't think that your weight would have anything to do with your dreams. Unfortunately, I learned the hard way that you are belittled for your weight and treated lowly at such a young age by people you work with. Sadly, I do not have much good memories from this studio.

This dance studio isn't a regular studio. At Sarita's Dance Studio there is a lot of love and caring for the children, instructors and the staff. You can see the smiles on the children's faces when they see Sarita. Children run to Sarita and hug her and they thank her. Sarita is a very caring lady that has a passion for the art of dance, love for children and staff and is a very spiritual and loving human being. You will love her, too, once you meet her. This studio is filled with happiness and positive vibes. It's a studio like no other.
