I'm so glad I made the choice to try this place four months ago. I had my worries about and experiences with sexism and the extremes of what can pass for "discipline" in these sorts of spaces, but those fears have been entirely unfounded. I was greeted on my trial day by longtime students who brought me in immediately and enthusiastically, included me, and whose encouragement was a big part of the reason I kept coming back when it was still hard to keep up, pre-conditioning. The Master takes notice of each of us from the start - calibrates how far he can push, what's the best way to get us to feel we're progressing, etc. I find him to be kind and practical in equal amounts - basically, come prepared to do your best. The effects of training here have been profound and numerous. Under Master's guidance, it's been a pleasure to work up from someone who frequently had to tap out in the first half of class to someone who is genuinely surprised at how soon class seems to end. My flexibility, energy, and overall endurance have grown, along with so many little day to day physical and mental improvements. It's a comfort to know I'm free to come any night we're open as well. If I have to miss a usual day, I just pick another to stay on track. I look forward to staying and training here for the foreseeable future.

I’ve been attending classes weekly for the last two years now. I’ve enjoyed the master/instructor. He’s respectful, patient, and kind. Classes have helped me with my overall fitness and cardio conditioning. I can feel myself getting more flexible and can see the visible progress of my forms and techniques. I really appreciate the class schedule/format that allows me the flexibility to attend around other time commitments. I have a busy schedule, so it’s been comforting to know that if I miss a day, I can just show up on another weekday that works better for me. The class sizes vary each night due to that flexibility. However, whether you train solo or with a group, the instructor/master keeps it professional and a good workout. I personally enjoy my classmates. It’s predominantly BIPOC and chill people. No drama. We take training seriously and there’s room for fun and socializing.

I have a horrible experiences of reaching out to this institution today. I called in asking for the prices and more information about the school, however a lady answered my phone, laughed as my question and hanged up the phone on me. I don’t understand why someone can be this rude when I was being nice and polite to them. I just wanted to ask a question, yet I got no answer but someone laughing at me and hanged up on me. That’s was very disrespectful of whoever answered that call.

This School is great. Every time I observe a class, I am amazed how Master makes sure that kids listen and follow directions. Everyone is very respectful and full of energy. It's a very positive place, and kids enjoy it a lot. The school is open every day, and you can choose on what days to come (recommended 2 days a week, but you can come up to three times). Kids feel very proud when they earn the next level belt.

I quit the class after a year and a half, due to ill-treatment and disrespect. It was sad to see the environment slowly turn toxic. I am the second person who quit the class because of one person’s bad behavior, and it was extremely disappointing to see Master not stand up against the perpetrator for abusive language and attitude. I lived through the classic case of patriarchal dominance where a woman is asked to stay silent, not speak up or voice her opinion, to just smile and be a good girl and not stand against indecent, unnecessary remarks. It was great learning Taekwondo. The class builds in you the tenets of humility, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit. The class is designed to align mind, body and spirit. Master is highly skilled, committed, and knowledgeable. I’ll recommend you to join the class only if you don’t mind being amoral, socially indifferent and tolerant towards abusive behavior. The workout is great but respect and equality matter much more.
