Reached out regarding the installation of a backup camera and was quoted $100. Decided I would actually install a new stereo to work better with backup camera. He said it would be fine but did not arrange what the cost would be beforehand. When I went in, I was told it would be $650. That's ridiculous. I asked again about how much the backup camera install alone was and he said $400. I told him he quoted me a different amount before of $100. He insisted it was $400. He was clearly lying and trying to take advantage of me. I left because I did not trust his honesty. He also said the install of stereo and backup camera would take all day. I found another place (MCA Car Audio & Alarm) that did installation of stereo and backup camera for $250 and it was done in under two hours. . Pedro comes to you. He's super reliable and trustworthy. Avoid Sound Source.

I had a great experience here. My car got broken into and my Pioneer stereo got stolen, and I needed to get the replacement installed. I was able to drop it off the day beforehand so Allen could prep the mount and wiring in advance. I was in and out in about 20 minutes!

Stop endlessly reading reviews and just go here already! Look at all the other reviews! We go here for a reason. I’ve always had a great experience at Sound Source with the owner, Alan. He answered the phone right away and knew exactly what he was talking about adding a security system, upgrading my sound system and fixing my broken stereo. With over 20 years of experience, Allan worked on my 1990 BMW and my 2022 Toyota Highlander without any issues. His rates are the best in Oakland, and he sticks to his word on when the work will be done and how much it'll cost. Plus, Tacos Sinaloa is right across the street, which is a nice bonus.
