I stopped by this antique shop today with my kids, hoping to enjoy a little adventure and explore something new. Unfortunately, the experience was far from welcoming. From the moment we walked in, I felt as though we weren’t wanted there. The shopkeeper made a pointed comment, saying, “Maybe this isn’t the place for kids,” in a tone that was rude and dismissive. It felt like I was being judged—whether for having my children with me, for how I was dressed, or something else, I’m not sure. But I left feeling uncomfortable and discriminated against, as if I didn’t belong or wasn’t the type of person who could afford to shop there. It’s disappointing when a local business treats visitors this way.

This is cool antique store, it’s so annoying that you get these “reviewers” with an ax to grind and project their issues onto the store. Obviously I’ve never had an issue being let in or out of this store that’s absurd and the owner is knowledgeable and helpful, I guess to some, being intelligent and well versed in your field is “pompous”. I never have a bad experience here, of course I’m not looking for one either.

Antique Swan gate keeps figuratively, and literally, locking their gate during business hours to prevent people from entering or exiting(??). This shop’s attitude is why I have steered clear of antiquing, as the shopkeeper treated me as a problem to get rid of & not a customer in any sense of the word. The gentleman that interacted with me was incredibly pompous. I asked if they currently had any thing like uranium glass, and receiving a blank stare, expanded to depression glass/UV fluorescing/etc… but was informed they don’t carry anything American. At least I got a history lesson- there is no uranium/UV glass outside America. Apparently.
