Update: still amazing service from Thousand Oaks Dental! I had such an awesome experience here! Everyone was super friendly and made me feel comfortable right away. Dr. Thompson did my fillings, and I even got my wisdom teeth removed with sedation by Dr. Greene. It was convenient to get everything done in one place. What I really appreciated was how honest they were about insurance. They made it clear that coverage is just an estimate, not a guarantee, which I think is super important and helped me trust them even more. The staff answered all of my (probably annoying) questions without making me feel rushed. If you’re looking for a dental office that actually cares and makes the whole process easy, definitely check them out!

I don’t recommend coming here. The doctor was rude and condescending when I had questions about being told many different things by many different people. I went in as a new patient today for my 2 kids that I thought may have some cavities and needed cleanings. I paid 288, not bad except that now I’m going to be paying for a second opinion. But paid 288 For cleaning and exam/x-rays for my 2 kids which really isn’t bad and The ladies at the front really were extremely nice and helpful! The problem came in when they called me back to join my kids. I went into my first (youngest) daughters exam room where I was told it looked like she didn’t have any cavities. I said I was surprised because she was the one I thought would have them. Which would have been a good opportunity to say that this was not an actual diagnosis and that I was not even talking to someone qualified to diagnose. I was pulled out of that room and told my oldest daughter in the other room would need sealants that would be 221.00 and asked me to sigh for it, I told them that I would have to schedule that for next week. I go into my other daughter’s exam room where they tell me”no cavities” and then proceed to 30 seconds later show me a cavity on the x-Ray. I figured it was a mistake, I went to schedule my oldests sealants and cavity removal and the dental hygienist comes out and tells me that my youngest does have 3 cavities. I expressed my confusion that I was told they had no cavities at first and the dental hygienist responded with hostility and at first told me no one told me that, then told me it was missed and then also told me that she was the only one qualified to diagnose. Which is fine but then I’m confused why I was told they had no cavities to begin with and why they didn’t just call me back 2 minutes later when they had the full scope of what was needed. You have some one crying in your office because dental work is expensive and you wanna be rude because someone was confused when you told them one thing and then another. 288 wasn’t bad except that now I have to go pay to get a second opinion from an office that acts in a professional manner. With how expensive dental work is especially without insurance I don’t think that. Price transparency upfront and being certain before giving information is too much to ask.
