Before joining E 3rd St Gym NYC I toured TMPL, LifeTime, and Crunch. E 3rd is by far the best bang for your buck. I always went at 5pm after work (the universal worst time to go to the gym) and I rarely had to wait for a bench or a machine. This is a luxury that is extremely hard to find in NYC. Not only was the traffic kept to a minimum, they have everything you need equipment wise. While their volume of benches/machines is lower than a TMPL or a Lifetime, it doesn't matter because the customer traffic is significantly lower. Showers and locker room are kept clean, staff is super nice and they have personal trainers on site. Overall 5/5 and a great choice of gym.

Good gym but there's no hot water for the showers most of the time and I'm not planning to extend my membership because of that.

Excellent gym experience! Clean, spacious, and well-equipped with everything from free weights to cardio machines. Trainers are friendly and always ready to offer advice or adjustments to exercises. I love the variety of classes—they make workouts fun and challenging. Great environment for both beginners and seasoned fitness enthusiasts.

After reading some of the one star reviews I can confirm those people were right despite what the owner is saying. Before the owner even says anything about looking my name up and not being a member I booked a class on Classpass so yes you don’t have to be a member to know this gym is trash. This gym is really dirty with terrible air ventilation, could barely breathe. It’s smells so bad and the bathrooms are filthy and only had one bathroom working plus the sinks are broken. The front desk guy told me to leave the water running for a few minutes to get the water hot so I let it run for 20mins and it was still freezing cold. There is absolutely nothing luxurious about this gym to be considered a luxury gym and I’ve been to many. Instead of the owner being a smart mouth in the comments he could easily fix these issues and apologize for the bad experience but instead they chose to be immature which is why this gym is awful.
