I love this method of learning and the flexibility for children to explore instruments and expand their experience with other children at their level through jam sessions. The staff was easy to correspond with, worked with our crazy schedule, and provided expertise when guidance was requested. We love School of Rock!

I'm writing to caution other parents about a recent, unacceptable experience at SOR. Our son, who is 10 and has attended the school for several years, has been participating in the band program. He became uncomfortable in the unsupervised student lounge, where older teenagers frequently curse and, in one instance, brought an alcoholic beverage. When we raised these concerns with SOR management, we expected them to address the issue. Instead, a staff member (who may be a manager) pulled our son aside after his lesson and interrogated him, accusing him of lying about what he had seen. Our son was very shaken and upset, feeling like he was being dishonest with us, his parents. When I immediately went inside to confront the staff member about this unacceptable behavior, she yelled at me and told me to get out. Parents of young children should be aware of the unsupervised teen environment and the potential for staff to mistreat and intimidate children who report issues. While we've had good experiences in the past, this incident is completely unacceptable.

The level of learning that my son is getting is beyond! Just before we started at School of Rock he had been taking lessons for about 3 years and he told me that he felt he had "outgrown his instructor" so I started look for alternatives. We have friends that have been at S of R for awhile and just love it! So, we decided to give it a shot, and am I glad we did! He is really honing his skills and learning to play in a band! My son is very excited to go every week and the friends he's making is priceless!

The atmosphere at School of Rock San Diego is the best. The kids hangout and get to know each other becoming friends in the student lounge area. The teachers are professional musician's in bands and not just music teachers. I like how they play the songs exactly as the artists play them. I moved my son from another School of Rock to this location. With the atmosphere and teachers, I feel this location is the best School of Rock in San Diego County and possibly the country.

My son has been a student at School of Rock for 6 years. He started in Grade 7 and is now a high school senior. His last performance - PINK FLOYD - was this past weekend. (His first performance was The Clash London Calling.) He has LOVED every minute at School of Rock. The teachers, director, office staff and owners are amazing, professional, and respectful. His vocal and performance skills are so impressive - the growth we have seen from him is truly remarkable. His self confidence has improved tremendously. He loves music so much that he will continue studying music in college. If your child has expressed any interest in music, I 100 percent recommend School of Rock - San Diego!
