Horrible customer service. This is my first time ever leaving a comment, but the experience was bad enough that I had to share. I was using this gym regularly, and they charged me for an extra month without any notice or explanation. Never told me i have to do all this BS process of canceling membership and I ended up paying almost $90 for nothing. Overall, really disappointing. I would recommend avoiding this gym if you can.

West Loop Athletic Club is truly one of Chicago’s best-kept secrets! The gym is spotless, and the range of classes and amenities is unbelievable for the price. The ladies’ locker room feels secure and spa-like, with a relaxing sauna and steam room experience. The pool and hot tub are an added bonus. Whether you’re into lifting or cardio, this gym has it all. Highly recommend!

Really crap gym. But even worse than the subpar facilities is the customer service experience. They insisted on charging me for another month when I canceled my membership. Their 30 day notice period ensures that you are locked in to paying for an additional month as soon as your invoice goes through. Basically $89 for nothing. Woeful experience. There are far superior gyms in the neighbourhood with much better membership options.

Terrible customer service. I canceled my membership 2 weeks prior to the next payment & still got charged for another month of the membership. No one in the desk can help with billing & when contacted to their service email and asked for the date in which the agreement was emailed they denied to answer the question

I have been a member here for over ten years and I have slowly seen this place go from good to awful. First it was the demise of kids club, now it’s the limited hours and overcrowding. If you are going at peak times it’s near impossible to navigate. Since the pandemic the hours never returned to normal and the classes didn’t either. If anyone is reading this it needs to be turned back to 5am opening and stay open a couple hours later, especially on the weekends. I sent a message to someone in aquatics about an issue I was having and never even received a response which lets me know how valuable I am as a member. The only reason I am giving this an extra star instead of the one it takes to write this is for the front desk staff who are just lovely people. Jen, Jojo, Jackson, Canon and anyone else who mans the front desk is in desperate need of a well deserved raise as are the cleaning staff. Everything else about this gym makes me wish harder that the equinox hotel that was supposed be built actually came to fruition and that there were better options that were walkable. Overall: seek an alternative if possible and if this is your best option try to come at off peak times. *Cutting this down to one star that I have to give to write this review because all the above mentioned people are no longer there and the HVAC isn’t working properly.
